Join the Shekina Garden Community from Pai Thailand and the Upcycle House Community for a pilgrimage in the Italian mountains, 28-31 August 2025.
This long weekend of exploring Christ-centered practices in a beautiful setting offers space and permission to get away, to be with God, and to connect with community.
We'll be staying in the Temple Piedicavallo, 130-year-old church parish grounds in the foothills of the Italian Alps. We'll have home-cooked vegetarian and vegan meals to nourish us. We'll share in daily options of Christ-centered practices with folks from Shekina Garden in Thailand, such as devotional yoga and meditation, sharing circles, music and movement.
We'll have time for ourselves with the possibility of journalling time, hikes, swimming, rest, and reflection. And we'll have time together, sharing our experiences of our practices in sharing circles.
This pilgrimage is for anyone curious about or on the Christ Path: Jesus devotees, wanderers, those who are heartsore, those who are questioning, on the fringes, or simply curious about Jesus. There is space for you here - welcome welcome!

Note: this pilgrimage is held all at one location, in and around the Temple Piedicavallo, it is not a walking pilgrimage.
Accommodation and Dining Details:
Our accommodation at the beautiful Temple Piedicavallo is a simple space for up to 18 pilgrims, with additional space for camping. We will bring our own sleeping bags or bedding, sleeping in dorm rooms on bunk beds, with shared bathroom facilities.
If privacy is required, pilgrims can bring their own tent and bedding for alternative accommodation on the grounds of the Temple.
Our meals will be home cooked, fresh and simple! We'll be required to bring our own blissware - cup, plate/bowl and utensils.
Cost Details:
We want to keep this retreat affordable while still covering overhead costs and travel, including flights for Rae, Chinua, Ro and Neil from Thailand to Italy, so we are offering a sliding scale, pay-what-you-can price between 280 euro and 400 euro. Book and pay before 21st June to secure the Early Bird price. After 21st June, the sliding scale price will be 330 euro to 450 euro. (See payment details below.)
Payment and Refund Policy:
The cut off date for booking and payment will be 30 days before the pilgrimage. Pilgrims will be refunded the full amount paid if sufficient numbers of bookings to cover our costs have not been reached by that time. (See payment details below.)
Who We Are:
Rae, Chinua, Ro and Neil have been running Shekina Garden in Thailand together for over 10 years. They are mature, compassionate and experienced space-holders, leaders and guides.
Having come with their own experiences of guiding, teaching and leading groups and events for years before working together, at Shekina Garden they have created a space that is now well-known as a safe place of welcome and spiritual practice for travellers and seekers on the hippy trail through Asia.
Tiina and Giona are a Finnish-Italian couple renovating an old soap factory in a small mountain town in Italy into a community house. They have a dream of creating a space for authentic spirituality and connection—both for locals and travelers, and have experience of facilitating spiritual events and retreats in their region.
